- Er Zhi Wan: A traditional Chinese medicine prescription that contains equal amount of Eclipta prostrata and another herb known as Nu Zhen Zi (Ligustrum lucidumis).
- Wedelolactone: A compound found in this plant that has potential medicinal effect.

Eclipta prostrata contains a compound known as wedelolactone. This complex compound is also found in another plant known as Sphagneticola calendulacea (synonyms include Wedelia chinensis and Wedelia calendulacea), which looked very similar to Creeping Daisy (Sphagneticola trilobata). Wedelolactone may be the active ingredient that contributed to the medicinal effect of this plant.
